Brilliant garnet, this wine has a pleasant nose whose freshness is due to a dominant fruitiness (bigarreau, blackcurrant). On swirling, the budding bouquet gains in complexity. On the palate, a crunchy, fruity attack with a nice balance. On the finish, the wine expresses itself fully with fruit relayed by spices. A very crunchy style. Served at room temperature, between 17-19°C, as an accompaniment to red or white, grilled or roasted meats, but will also go well with charcuterie, a Lorraine quiche or fine and moderately seasoned cheeses.

Grape Variety

Bordeaux Blend

A Bordeaux Blend is a blended red wine that contains only those varieties that are authorized for use in the red wines of the Bordeaux region of France. Bordeaux is the most famous and highly coveted wine blend in the world. Like many wines with a long history, there’s a lot to learn, so we’re here to just cover the basics.

Red Bordeaux blend is primarily composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, with smaller portions of Malbec and Petit Verdot.

White Bordeaux blend is primarily made of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, with a splash of Muscadelle in the mix

While there are both red and white Bordeauxs, the name Bordeaux is primarily associated with the red wine blend. Red Bordeaux is a red wine that is always made from blending Cabernet Sauvignon wine and Merlot wine together, though the proportion of each depends on the location of the winery that made the wine.

Left bank blends : tend to be higher in tannins, alcohol and acidity. They are powerful, rich wines that are said to age a bit better than wines from the Right Bank.

Right bank blends : tend to be softer, less tannic and lower in alcohol and acidity. Because Merlot is the dominant grape, they are much more juicy and usually ready to be drunk much earlier than Left Bank Bordeauxs, and they’re often less expensive.

Owned by the Sichel family since1961, Chateau Angludet is is an extraordinary property situated at the heart of the Margaux appellation, surrounded by forests and Cru Classé vineyards. The estate would almost certainly have been included in the famous 1855 Classification, had it not been broken up as part of an inheritance settlement. In an act of faith (given the property’s state of decay) and belief in Angludet’s potential, the Sichel family bought the estate and since then, have worked tirelessly to restore and, indeed, improve the vineyard and cellars, giving Angludet back the reputation its exceptional terroir deserves.

Chateau Angludet is also the family home to the Sichel clan, a family which has been in the wine business since 1883 and at present includes the five Sichel brothers and two of their sons. For those familiar with the Bordeaux wine industry, the family Sichel is also well-known for its broad range of house brands, negociant wines and, of course, ownership of Chateau Palmer, one of the other extraordinary Grand Cru Classé properties of the Margaux appellation. Benjamin Sichel is responsible for winemaking at Angludet & runs the vineyards along biodynamic principles.

Maison Sichel also owns Chateau Argadens, perched atop one of the highest hills in the Bordeaux appellation, about 60 km south of the capital. Originally called La Salle d’Argadens , the estate dates back to the 12th century. Maison Sichel acquired the property in 2002 with the aim to become one of the benchmark properties in the Bordeaux Supérieur category, taking advantage of its fabulous soils & orientation. The cellars have been completely renovated and Argadens is a thoroughly modern Bordeaux with lots of concentrated fruit and an attractive, supple balance.

A pretty wine with a beautiful, sustained garnet colour heralding in a pleasing nose of small berried fruits – redcurrant and blackcurrant – with a hint of ripe blackberry. The generous, well-balanced palate is tautly structured over a carefully managed, wellintegrated tannic base. A pleasant Bordeaux with real character, ideal for sharing over a convivial meal. An already charming wine, it will go wonderfully with white meats, grilled red meats and of course cheeses.

This property is located in Landerrouat, at the eastern end of the Bordeaux region. It has belonged to the Bessette family since 1971. Jean-Paul and Alice are devoted to their vineyard and their production. Their son Mathieu, holder of a BTS in viti-oenology, joins them to perpetuate the family know-how, to perpetuate the quality of the work and to bring a new impetus. Thanks to the perfect care given to cultivation, harvesting and vinification, the resulting wines have character.

Dominated by Merlot, from this very great vintage, it has a beautiful ruby colour. Nose complex with blackcurrant notes, spices and undergrowth. Silky & persistent tannins which pair perfectly with grilled duck breast or a selection of fine cheeses!

Les Vignobles Audubert is above all a beautiful story of family, sharing and transmission. Serge, from a family of wine growers, acquired, with his wife Nathalie, Château Laborde in 1996 located a short distance north-east of Libourne. In 2014, they were joined by their son, Vincent, also passionate about viticulture. Together, they develop the vineyard with a love of the terroir and respect for the environment.

Château Dauzac represents one of the pillars of the denomination which has seen a notable improvement in quality in recent years. Thanks to constant commitment in both the vineyard and the cellar, this splendid estate has become an undisputed icon of the Margaux area.

Ruby red colour. On the nose, notes of black and red fruit emerge, such as blackcurrant and blackberry, enriched by pleasant floral and spicy accents. In the mouth it manifests itself with a fleshy and generous consistency, highlighting an appetizing and creamy structure from the beginning. The roundness of the wine finds a balance in the fresh acidity of the fruit, while maintaining an extremely delicate tannic texture.

Château Dauzac represents one of the pillars of the denomination which has seen a notable improvement in quality in recent years. Thanks to constant commitment in both the vineyard and the cellar, this splendid estate has become an undisputed icon of the Margaux area.

Grapes used

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Franc

Merlot

Production method

The harvest of the grapes takes place at the optimal moment of full ripeness, followed by a process of destemming and maceration which lasts for approximately twenty days. Subsequently, we move on to the pneumatic pressing and mixing phase. The wine is then left to mature for at least 12 months in French oak barrels.

Alcohol content

14%

Tasting notes

Ruby red colour. On the nose, notes of black and red fruit emerge, such as blackcurrant and blackberry, enriched by pleasant floral and spicy accents. In the mouth it manifests itself with a fleshy and generous consistency, highlighting an appetizing and creamy structure from the beginning. The roundness of the wine finds a balance in the fresh acidity of the fruit, while maintaining an extremely delicate tannic texture.

Possible combinations

Perfect with structured first courses or second courses based on red meat or game, even cooked for a long time, or with medium-aged cheeses.

A Bordeaux Blend is a blended red wine that contains only those varieties that are authorized for use in the red wines of the Bordeaux region of France. Bordeaux is the most famous and highly coveted wine blend in the world.

The Story

Founded in 2007 by owner Fabrice Domercq and Jasper Morrison, Ormiale is situated in the north of the Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux. Ormiale is vinified and bottled on the property as an appellation Bordeaux contrôlée – Grand Vin de Bordeaux. While the Merlotinox an 100% Merlot, is a stunning Vin de France wine.
Everything is done by hand, even de-stemming the grapes! These delicately handled grapes are vinified in French oak vats and also in stainless steel vats for about 4 to 5 weeks. Yields are typically, around 20-25 hectolitres/hectare. In comparison, the maximum authorised yield for Bordeaux Supérieur in 2009 was 59 hl./ha!

The People – Fabrice, Jasper & Mauro –

Paris born Fabrice Domercq splits his time between Brussels and Bordeaux. After opening a design agency in Italy, where he lived for around 15 years, he devoted himself to sculpture and the plastic arts. From 1990-2000, he took part in many exhibitions in France and abroad including the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Fondation Cartier in Paris and the CAPC in Bordeaux.

But it wasn’t until 2006, together with Jasper Morrison, that this artist turned his hand to winemaking.

CULTURE: the vineyard is engaged in organic farming, certified QUALISUD FR-BIO-16

Blend of Merlot & Cabernet Franc. Merlot is aged in French oak barrels and Cabernet Franc in amphora, both during 15 months before bottling.
This wine has powerful aromas and great ageing potential. Black cherry, prune and subtle truffle notes, silky tannins and an elegant, friendly acidic strike.

Focused and precise, Les Vendanges is a complex and characterful wine, rich but vibrant with a texture and taste that makes an impact straight away.
Fresh black fruits, floral notes and sensational minerality do the talking – it has weight, density and structure – broad and bold yet graceful, it has direction and persistence.
Acceleration is breathing, but the ride is smooth and comfortable, settling with such purity. This is a wine you want to drink. Cool, classy, clear and decisive with a flawless texture.

We dedicate lots of our energy to the work of the ground and to control a qualitative grassing which, coupled with clays, takes care to regulate the shoot of the vine. We lead the vineyard in « Bordelaise pruning » and make all the operations in green necessary to obtain high quality grapes ( removing the unwanted new shoots, trellising high, thin the leaves and removing green bunches of grapes thinning out the leaves if needed).

Production : 6 100 bottles – 375 magnums – 22 doble-magnum

Wine Making : the harvest date is defined according to the tasting of berries : September 16th, 2020 for the Merlot and September 24th , 2020 for the Cabernet Franc. The work in our cellar with gravity system is modulated according to the quality of the grapes harvested, and supervised from day to day depending on the tasting. It consists all in all in some unballastings, and a special attention throughout the whole process.

Ageing: the merlot is put into barrels in November and the cabernet franc in sandstone amphorae. It stays for 15 months before bottlin
